lost in bardford It's 2PM on a Monday.

This morning while I sat in front of my shackles, I stared in awe at the open Window and marveled at the sight of the broken sky. I stared because my soul is wrenching constantly and the darken clouds swept by the wind remind me of the passing of time; Unstoppable and merciless. Suddenly I noticed a single bird in the far distance, wheeling in the vastness of grey. I'm not sure why but the sight moved me past the point of tears and just then, when I could not take it anymore and when my eyes were nearly blind by the clear salty liquid, a flock of birds dashed across the immenseness. In two seconds they were gone and so too was my sorrow.

e_o_i Styles, Harry. The Cantos.

"And then went down to the ship,
Set keel to breakers, forth on the godly sea, and
You don't know you're beautiful.
That's what makes you beautiful!"

e_o_i Okay, more seriously, I think I'm on one of these to some extent; I have a new job as a research assistant to add to the tutoring, and while it's not full-time or permanent, it's something that doesn't just give me more money but more thoughts in my head, more stimulus to creativity - what I missed since leaving school.

The bird image reminds me of standing at the bus stop, watching an airplane rise, crossing behind the six electric lines strung across the transformers at the other side of the street. In my head I hummed, imagining the airplane was a note rising in pitch on a musical staff.

Now, birds and wires and music: Leonard Cohen, and something in Ezra Pound's (or Harry Styles'!) Pisan Cantos, though I can't find the part I'm looking for right now.
