A thousand years from now, archaeologists will wonder what we did for about 50 years of our time. All of our hopes, dreams, plans, culture, technology, politics, law and art will be stored as magnetic 1's and 0's on a magnetic medium...fragile to the extreme in archaeological terms. How will they find us? How will the know us? The Mesopotamian culture saved itself from obscurity with tablets made of clay. The record of our way of living is nowhere near as durable. Perhaps it's for the best that the future not know how we lived, that our empty way of living might never be emulated. The internet and our reliance on technology has the power to either save us, or erase from the annals of history.
