Two good ideas, both doomed by the supremacy of ego. It saddens me to think that only self interest is realistic. It really saddens me that the communists and buddhists are enemies (especially in Asia). A society based on compassion seems to be out of the question, a Quixotic dream. Too bad. |

communists jailed buddhists and forced buddhist nuns and monks to fuck in the streets. compassion goes out the window for most humans when they are imprisoned for their beliefs and are forced to have sex while other people watch and laugh. communism lost in the long run with their war on religion. in theory communism seems great especially to rational atheists. turns out leftists are not above the corruption of absolute power. if we want a compassionate society we need to learn how to live in a nuanced plurality without insulting and bullying people we don't agree with let alone committing atrocities against them |
