There is surely a past here. It's where I have been and what I have done; who I am. I can assuredly say that there is also a future. It's what I will become; who I will be; it's every moment ahead of me. But at the same point, what is real to me is the fact that I am breathing at this moment alone. It's the state of being trapped in an ever-present "now". In a way, it's an extreme case of "Carpe Diem" Seize the day? Sure. But how about "Seize the moment"? Carpe Articulus. Seize it now for in a few moments, you may not remember a thing that happened. The next moment will be a clean slate. Untouched by moments passed. Every sensation will be new and novel. You'll feel the pain, the sorrow, the joy, and the happiness over and over again. Capture the pleasure of this moment without a thought for the future. The future's yet to be written and yet to be experienced. It will come eventually. Live now.
