As the moon retires
with head in wing and sun in tow
I am set to wondering if it is happiest
when it is the one to see you sleeping
or if it chances to see you smile

And then I reflect upon 5 years
standing in the daylight of your consciousness
as well your restful hours and think
"what a lucky soul I am
to have kissed the forehead
of this angel-in-waiting!"

As the moon goes down

I'm so very aware of my good fortune
in being here dusk to dawn to dusk
basking in being with you
seeing you
night and day
smile or slumber
heart in hand.
