amy nada	i kind of think they are. they are both desired information. and that information can have questionable value. sometimes, not all the time. i think of all the advice i seek that doesn't make it through the wash and all the gossip i hear that has no ultimate bearing to the gossiped about person's life. they both can fall under the heading of meddlesome chatter designed to help the listener (and the speaker) feel better. eventually i think you get to actually feeling better when you sort through to the truth (if the standard for truth is feeling better) it just seems like there's a lot of chaff in that wheat, many times. but then again, what is there worthwhile that doesn't require a good amount of effort? and what would we do without the input of others? i am pretty sorely divided on the issue, having sought tons of advice and listened to gossip for cues about correct behavior, only to make changes in my life only when time has passed, or i've been made ready, somehow.	100507
