See the film "Loose_Change". Perhaps we will never know what really happened, but there is clearly a LOT more going on here than most people seem to think. I'd yell "Wake up, people!" except that I sense that I, too, am asleep....

This is about a whole lot more than what occured in New York, though. This is also about the "airplane" that crashed into the pentagon and the mysterious Flight 93. This is about a carefully engineered series of deceptions with close ties to high ranking members of the administration. This is about an attack on our nation... from members OF our nation.

There is a lot of controversy over whether or not they were from our nation. Most people would assume that they were from a different country that hold contrary opinions to ours. Some believe that they were employees of the airlines. Still others believe that this is all an alaborate hoax made up by the government. We'll probably never know. All we can do is try to help each other in the best way that we can and show our patriotism, which we should've been doing to begin with.

With all due respect, I think that patriotism is one of those "in-the-first-place" kind of problems. I'm tired of these "How has 9/11 affected us?" tragedocumentaries in which we all discuss how we don't feel safe anymore. Five years later and 9/11 makes news. AIDS, on the other hand... I'm all about giving a fuck, but let's give a fuck equally.

i saw a person fall past my window. a jet engine fell on the spot i was standing moments before. a tower fell so close to me that i had to run from it's debris. it fell on my desk. i was there and the towers fell. 5 years is not a very long time to me.

Hey, again, I'm all about giving a fuck, but I think it should be equal. Proportional. In other words, I don't think that someone's loss should be made into a political strategem. Someone doesn't feel safe anymore...the bubble snaps and breaks. Welcome to the rest of the world. Welcome to human suffering.

Tragic things happen in people's lives. Usually, however, people are condemned to suffer these tragedies alone, since the general attitude of people tends to be "shit happens, get over it." Yet in the case of victims of the September 11th attacks, we are expected to allocate endless sympathies to the victims and their families. We're expected to call them all "Heroes" and treat them with extra-special dignity. Shouldn't we treat EVERYONE with extra-special dignity? Or is that too oxymoronic for the cynical? Don't get me wrong - it is a pity that innocent people died as pawns in a political game. But 9/11 isn't somehow more "a pity" than when people die or suffer in other unfortunate incidents. Sorry. A pity is a pity. It is a rare life that hasn't experienced something exquisitely horrible. Yet you 9/11ers get endless attention for yours; you can talk about it and no one will shut you up, plus you can relate with others who went through the same thing. For the rest of your lives, people will be interested in your problems. Many of us have no one to relate with, no one who has gone through the same thing, no one who will listen, no one who gives a fuck and certainly no federal compensations, even though our personal horrors might be no less awful. To that end, you 9/11ers are rather fortunate in your inherited tragedy.

Now let's be fair. You can't go resenting people dramatically affected (as opposed to vicariously) by 9/11. If you want, resent the government for politically exploiting it, resent the media for financially profiting from it, and resent the populace in general for having little awareness of other, and often larger, international cases of human suffering. But let's remember that regardless of the politics involved, suffering *is* suffering.

I didn't intend to sound as if I resent the victims! Perhaps that is how I came across but that isn't what I meant. Those darn victims! How dare they! Just kidding.

indeed dipperwell, isn't it sad that we required something of this nature for many to resume the patriotism that they should've been showing in the first place. The only way you have any excuse is if you're an illegal immigrant. If so, welcome to america. Now get out or register.
